About the Client

The client is a company deeply conscious about the environment, offering comprehensive waste management solutions worldwide. They provide services such as recycling, hazardous waste management, landfill management, and organic waste processing, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Their mission is to champion a cleaner, greener future using advanced technologies to responsibly collect, treat, and dispose of waste materials, helping businesses and communities reduce their environmental impact.

The Challenge

The client was concerned about complaints of odour and dust around their sites. They required a sophisticated and user-friendly system to monitor environmental parameters such as PM1, PM2.5, PM10, NO2, O3, wind speed, wind direction, noise, light, UV, temperature, humidity, and pressure. The system needed to perform accurately under Alberta's harsh cold conditions, offering a cost-effective solution to track and mitigate these factors.

The Solution

In November 2022, Oizom’s partner, ES Canada, implemented Oizom’s Polludrone Custom air monitoring system in a rural Alberta community. This solution provided real-time data on multiple environmental parameters and was designed to withstand extreme cold conditions. Oizom also customized the software to calculate and present the Canadian Air Quality Health Index (AQHI), making Polludrone one of the first products to offer this functionality in Canada.

The Result

With the Oizom Polludrone system, the client could monitor dust pollution and air quality continuously. The system was easily installed on-site and provides automatic alerts when pollutant levels exceed thresholds. The product proved robust in temperatures below -40°C and helped the client address complaints, track environmental impact, and maintain a commitment to cleaner, more sustainable practices.
